I'm Julie and I provide the musical aspects of Tip Top Tutoring. I have taught over 29 years in the classroom (secondary, primary, special and grammar) and I am also an experienced tutor of piano, flute, theory & composition; teaching the young beginner to grade 8 and beyond! The adult learner is welcome too.
If you live in the Chesterfield or North Easter area, I can provide lessons by arrangement in my teaching studio in Tupton and I offer music theory lessons on Skype to just about anywhere! I provide my own modern upright acoustic Kawai piano for lessons which is very helpful to budding musicians who need access to a quality instrument. My teaching studio has facilities for parents to make drinks and comfortable seating but I do prefer parents to be fully involved in lessons.
One-to-one private tuition is very satisfying as I can share my instrumental expertise and love of playing the piano and flute. Music Theory is also a passion of mine, I love to teach the language of music. Online tuition for those needing to pass Grade 5 Theory is very effective with Tip Top. Through the use of emails and Skype your work can be marked and thorough feedback is provided.
I will help prepare students for exams and concert so that learning is thorough and students are confident. I enter musicians for graded examinations through the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and all students have passed grades 1 - 8, mostly with merits and distinctions.
I'm ready to help you learn for pleasure and for graded qualifications.
I use a multi-sensory method to develop the all round musician so that even youngsters can develop a deeper understanding, and of course a love, of music.
With my unique methods you will find your progress is accelerated and your learning will be very thorough.
